Born in Bonn Germany. Education in France University Of Bordeaux UK, London and Glasgow, Argentina University of Mendoza, Germany University Aachen. Became Head of Consultants of general surgery, ortho trauma and vascular surgery at EVK Mülheim in Germany in 1987. Moved to Dubai as HOD of surgical departments in public sector of Dubai Department of Health in 2003. Opened a new surgical department at Dubai Hospital under Dubai Health Authority in 2006. Became Director of residency training program and professor of surgery at Dubai Medical College where he holds a position in the advisory board till date. Moved as HoD of surgery to BR Medical Suites in Dubai Healthcare City and Mediclinic City Hospital where he became Director in 2017. Worked as CMO at Al Zahra Hospital Dubai from 220 till 2022. Currently he serves as CMO at Human zHealth Education and Research Foundation based in UK. Rolf Hartung has been President of numerous international surgical societies, currently he is Vice President of ELSA. He has served in EXCO of more than 30 surgical and GI societies. He has organized and been Congress President of 38 international conferences, participated as instructor in more than 100 workshops and presented more than 300 lectures in international conferences and meetings. His main fields of interest are endocrine surgery, hernia, colorectal, endoscopy and robotics. As Director and CMO he has chaired and contributed to numerous committees lately to the advisory COVID task force in the UAE.
